Born Again = Your Soul is at Least 30% Saved
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Parable of the Sower

I have used the Parable of the Sower early on in my webpage history, but it had remained closed to me in many aspects until recently. While this page will have a strong look at nearly the whole parable, which I have never understood before in such ways, the primary purpose of this page is to teach the following statement:

When you are Born Again, your soul is at least, 30% saved.

Partially saved? For you folks who don’t know the difference between soul and spirit, you may think I said something utterly erroneous and perhaps even heretical!

The soul and spirit are different and just as the body is saved differently, so the soul is saved differently than the spirit.

I certainly am not going to repeat those teachings here, so for those confused on that subject go to the following teachings first and then come back and continue here:

The Salvation of the Soul verses the Salvation of the Spirit

For a video on the subject watch the following (however, please make note, that while Randy's teaching is good, he has a major error which I discuss on the Randy Shankle page):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UufrQ3rO9UQ

The spirit is saved instantly. By the way, that happens before you are Born Again, when you believe in the atonement of Christ you are saved. And yes there is a difference between believing and being Born Again. See here:

Believing vs. Being Born Again

When you are Born Again, that is when you believe in the 2nd work of the cross.

Gal 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ, and I live; yet no longer I, but Christ lives in me. And that life I now live in the flesh, I live by faith toward the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself on my behalf.

Again, I am not going to reiterate how the soul is saved, please read the 1st link in this post. But I will summarize with the most basic part:

James 1:21 …receive in meekness the implanted Word, which is able to save your souls.

It is by believing God’s word, and accepting it’s truth that saves the soul. So now I will explain how at the time of being Born Again, it is saved 30%, again recognizing this fact: the spirit is saved fully and instantaneously but the soul is saved progressively.

Matthew 13
3 …Behold, the sower went out to sow.
4 And as he sowed, some seeds fell by the wayside, and the birds came and devoured them.
5 Some fell on stony places, where they did not have much earth. And they sprang up immediately, because they had no deepness of earth.
6 And the sun rising, they were scorched, and because they had no root, they withered away.
7 And some fell among thorns. And the thorns sprung up and choked them.
8 And some fell on the good ground and yielded fruit, indeed one a hundredfold, and one sixty, and one thirty.
18 Therefore hear the parable of the sower.
19 When anyone hears the Word of the kingdom and does not understand it, then the wicked one comes and catches away that which was sown in his heart. This is the seed sown by the wayside.
20 But that which was sown on the stony places is this: he who hears the Word and immediately receives it with joy.
21 But he has no root in himself, and is temporary. For when tribulation or persecution arises on account of the word, he immediately stumbles.
22 And that sown into the thorns is this: he who hears the Word; and the anxiety of this world, and the deceit of riches, choke the Word, and he becomes unfruitful.
23 But that sown on the good ground is this: he who hears the Word and understands; who also bears fruit and produces one truly a hundredfold; and one sixty; and one thirty.

1. Those on the wayside: do not understand it, then the wicked one comes and catches away that which was sown in his heart. These people did not believe at all, and remain lost. They didn’t understand what was preached to them. They did not seek the truth any further, and remained in their sin. This does not mean God stopped dealing with them, and they never were preached to again. Nor does it mean they can’t hear, and believe later. This is just their state at this situation.

2. Those on stony places: hear the Word and immediately receives it. But they have no root (nothing beyond the seed, no growth, no branches, no fruit),  when tribulation or persecution arises, they stumble. These people believed the work of Jesus, they have obtained the seed! The seed is eternal, and incorruptible!

1 Peter 1:23 …not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, through the living word of God, and abiding forever.

Remember, it only takes believing to be saved:

He will not lose any!

John 6:39 And this is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all which He has given Me I should lose nothing but should raise it up again at the last day. 40 And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes on Him should have everlasting life. And I will raise him up at the last day.

John 10:28 And I give to them eternal life, and they shall never ever perish, and not anyone shall pluck them out of My hand.

More on Persecution and Tribulation:

Rom 8:18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the coming glory to be revealed in us.
19 For the earnest expectation of the creation waits for the manifestation of the sons of God.
20 For the creation was not willingly subjected to vanity, but because of Him who subjected it on hope
23 And not only so , but ourselves also, who have the firstfruit of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, awaiting adoption, the redemption of our body.
24 For we are saved by hope. But hope that is seen is not hope; for what anyone sees, why does he also hope for it?
25 But if we hope for that which we do not see, then we wait for it with patience.
26 Likewise the Spirit also helps our infirmities. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
27 And He searching the hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.
29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestinated to be conformed to the image of His Son, for Him to be the First-born among many brothers.
30 But whom He predestinated, these He also called; and whom He called, those He also justified. And whom He justified, these He also glorified.
31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

That is some deep stuff in Romans 8. I believe this is how I became Born Again, not because I heard the message that I died with Jesus, but I believed in His atonement and was seeking Him, and when I did, I came into trials. In these trials I did not give up hope. I did not feint, but continued to seek God. I believed His word, even though I did not have the word that I had died with Him. I believed that He would take care of me during these trials and in this I found Him and developed a relationship with Christ. But many do not do this and feint.

Isaiah 40:31 but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

3.  Those among thorns: hear the Word; and the anxiety of this world, and the deceit of riches, choke the Word, and they becomes unfruitful. Very similar to those on stony places! These also bear no fruit, but not because of tribulation or persecution, but because of temptation or by simple cares of this world.

Luke 12:22 …Be not anxious as to your life, what you shall eat; nor for the body, what you shall put on.
23 Life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing.
24 Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap, having neither storehouse nor barn, and God feeds them. How much more are you better than the birds?
27 Consider the lilies, how they grow; they do not toil, they do not spin. And yet I say to you that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
28 If then God so clothes the grass (which today is in the field, and tomorrow is cast into the oven) how much more will He clothe you, O little-faiths?
29 And do not seek what you shall eat, nor what you shall drink, and stop being in anxiety.
30 For all these things the nations of the world seek after, and your Father knows that you have need of these things.
34 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Cares of this world or its temptations can take us away from God.

James 1:2 My brothers, count it all joy when you fall into different kinds of temptations,
3 knowing that the trying of your faith works patience.
4 But let patience have its perfect work, so that you may be perfect and entire, lacking nothing.
12 Blessed is the man who endures temptation, because having been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.
13 Let no one being tempted say, I am tempted from God. For God is not tempted by evils, and He tempts no one.
14 But each one is tempted by his lusts, being drawn away and seduced by them .
15 Then when lust has conceived, it brings forth sin. And sin, when it is fully formed, brings forth death.
18 Of His own will He brought us forth with the Word of truth, for us to be a certain firstfruit of His creatures.

So even here, if a person endures temptations he also can be Born Again (verse 18). But many do not endure temptations or are caught in the cares of this world. But once again if they believe in the work of the cross for their atonement they will be saved!

What happens to those who are saved but not Born Again? I will not discuss it here, but you can read more about this here:

The Gospel of The Kingdom – Part 1

The 2 & a Half Tribes that didn’t Cross Over

Outer Darkness

Now we are left with the last group:

4. Those on good ground: hear the Word and understand; also bear fruit and produce one a hundredfold; and one sixty; and one thirty. As you can see thirty is the least. And it is because they have believed the 2nd work of the cross to become Born Again.

Gal 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ, and I live; yet no longer I, but Christ lives in me. And that life I now live in the flesh, I live by faith toward the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself on my behalf.

2 Cor 5:17 So that if any one is in Christ, that one is a new creature; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

You see, these people have already accepted God’s word as true in this vital area. Thus they have partially already fulfilled James 1:21 …receive in meekness the implanted Word, which is able to save your souls.

It is with similar aspect we see even in scripture some get baptized in the Holy Spirit when they are getting water baptized! God can do a quicker work than we think!

When you are Born Again, you have come to a place where you already have received God’s word with meekness and a change has taken place. Thus the soul has already been partially saved!

By the way, earlier I discussed how Jesus will not lose any. This directly connects to OSAS, Once Saved Always Saved. And I am not speaking of this matter when I say this, for more information on that subject read here:
